Finale Host News

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are lined up to host the May 15 season finale of "SNL," according to a source at the show.

The Olsens are promoting the May release of their latest flick, "New York Minute," which co-stars Darrell Hammond. The 17-year-old twins have never before appeared on the show - though their "Full House" pop, Bob Saget, hosted in 1995.

All guests are subject to change until confirmed by NBC.

Rock, Ferrell Among Funniest Americans

Former "SNL" cast member Chris Rock tops a new "Entertainment Weekly" list of the 25 Funniest Americans.

"Watching Rock in 2004 - 21 years into his comedy career - is like watching a great prize-fighter in peak condition," the magazine said.

Joining him on the list's top 10 were fellow "SNLers" Will Ferrell (no. 3) and Bill Murray, as well as one-time writer Larry David.

Franken, Garofalo Turn to Liberal Radio

Former "SNLers" Al Franken and Jeneane Garofalo are helping to get Air America Radio off the ground.

The network is expected to be a liberal alternative to radio programing hosted by the likes of Rush Limbaugh.

Franken and Garofalo will each host live three-hour shows for the network, which kicks off March 31 in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and San Francisco.

In a confrence call with reporters, Franken said he would call his midday show "The O'Franken Factor."

R.I.P.

The life of former "SNL" writer Drake Sather came to an abrupt end last Wednesday, the 3rd of March. His death has been ruled a suicide, a coroner's official reported Friday.

Sather wrote for "SNL" during the 1993-94 season, and went on to write for "NewsRadio," "Ed," and the film "Zoolander."

Our thoughts are with his friends and family.
